The name’s Adriaan Engelbrecht (yes! have fun pronouncing that) and if you want to recognize me when we step off in Dallas, I’m the blonde, 142-pound dwarf.
I’m a curiosity packed guy who is always striving for diversity and is willing to do anything that taxes me (especially physically). I look forward to what America will offer from that perspective. I much rather prefer doing something outdoors rather than sit on a couch all day. I have always been the crazy kid that does insane things and gets injured in the process but never regrets it.
I believe to get a firm impression off someone you should know what they stand for, their values. Personally, I believe in loyalty and the importance of it, but I do not easily give it out. Harvey Specter said it best, “Loyalty is a two-way street, if I’m asking it from you, you’re getting it from me.”
Right now, my eyes are set on what America has to offer.
My name is Aden Haussmann,
I have never been to the US before, so I'm really excited not only to meet the people, but also to see the country and it's cities.
A little bit about myself: My main focus is on academics; an area in which I excel. In fact, I have my heart set on studying in the US. Other than that, I'm active on the sports field. I currently enjoy rugby and mountain biking, and I did martial arts for many years. I love music. I can play the guitar and I'm learning to produce electronic music too. Leadership is obviously also one of my priorities. I live right in the heart of Africa, on a Big Five Game Reserve, which is a great privelage and has given me an environmental conscience. I'm looking forward to learning about America, and also teaching you what I can about South Africa. |
Hey, I’m Bruna. I’m 15 (soon to be 16 in the December) and I study at Uplands College. I’ve been at this school for about 3 years now and I think these have been some of my best years. I’m from a small country in Africa called Mozambique , therefore my first language is actually Portuguese. I am the eldest of two in a small family of four. My home town is a very big part of me, because for me it’s just spectacular. There’s not much about me I guess. I’m very extroverted and I really like to meet new people and learn about different customs. I’m passionate about Dance and Drama but in the future I hope to own a world-wide company that in someway can better the world we’re in

My name is Buhle, I'm currently 16 years old and I live in South Africa. I'm bubbly and enjoy meeting new people and I'm also an avid sports fanatic. You can always find me reading books (classics are my specialty), creating or fawning over art, playing sports, napping or binge watching on Netflix (terrible I know). I love animals and I'm a vegetarian, I'm beyond excited for this opportunity! |
My name is Josephine Collier and I am a Belgian living in Mozambique and studying in South Africa. I am 15 years old and I have lived my whole life in Mozambique, next to the beach. I attend Uplands in South Africa and I live in boarding. I recently joined the school in January but I feel like I have settled in very well very quickly. I have already travelled overseas and I know Europe quite well but I have never been to the US. I am adventurous and I love experiencing new things, I love animals and nature as well.

I stayed there for two months and absolutely loved it! I am a very active person and like to run a lot. The sports I play are Hockey, squash, netball and cricket. My favourite sport is definitely hockey. I speak English, SiSwati and am currently learning Afrikaans. I am a very sociable person and love interacting with people. When I leave school I would love to study either medicine or psychology.
